There are about 60+/- Clow Cards, they are as much Clow Cards as Tarot Cards(noticed how Clamp are fascinated by these Tarot Cards? See X by Clamp for more reference.). They can be used to tell and predict the future like Tarot Cards but they are better since each card has a special power that can be used by his master.
At first glance, these cards may just be cards that contain special powers. However, the truth is that each card has a mind of its own and chooses its own master. These cards always choose the person who succeed in making them reveal their true form. That is why Syaoran has a few Clow Cards even when he did not seal them.
These cards also have grades. The most power cards are first grade cards, there are only four of them namely Earthy, Watery, Firey and the Wind card(if i am not mistaken). The rest are relatively weaker ones. The stronger cards among the weaker ones are Lightning, Shadow, Storm, Wood, Time, Ice and Return Cards. Cerberus takes the power of Fire and Earth Cards, while Yue has the Wind and Water Card under him. This is revealed in the near last episodes of the second part.
